Qualifications and Experience
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license and certification for practice in California
- Clinical expertise working with preschool-age children is preferred
- Prior experience with preschool assessments and/or Preschool Assessment Teams highly valued
- Understanding of supporting students within a mild/moderate special day class (SDC) environment
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including educators and specialists
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy to preschool students, addressing diverse needs
- Participate in comprehensive assessments as part of the Preschool Assessment Team
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educators and families
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports in accordance with established protocols
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes growth and learning for all students
- Consult with teachers and staff to provide strategies for supporting communication in the classroom
