Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid Virginia SLP license or eligibility to obtain
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Experience with elementary-aged students beneficial
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills
Core Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in elementary students
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) alongside teachers, parents, and specialists
- Provide both direct therapy services and classroom-based interventions
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, progress notes, and reports in compliance with state and federal requirements
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team collaborations
- Stay current with best practices and legal requirements for school-based speech-language therapy
