School Speech Language Pathologist - Carencro, LA

Qualifications/Experience:

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution
• Active and current state licensure/certification as an SLP
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Previous experience working in school settings with PreK-12 students
• Strong knowledge of assessment tools, therapy techniques, and IEP documentation
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with students, educators, and parents

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, diagnose, and provide direct therapy services for students with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other specialists to integrate speech-language strategies into the classroom
• Conduct screenings and progress monitoring to evaluate student development and adjust interventions accordingly
• Maintain thorough records of evaluations, treatment plans, sessions, and student progress as per school and state requirements
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions
• Offer guidance, education, and support to families and school personnel regarding strategies for effective communication
