Embark on an exciting opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathologist, providing exceptional support to elementary students in the Wilmington, NC area. This contract position is ideal for professionals passionate about fostering communication and language growth in young learners. Step in to cover an FMLA leave, serving from August 24, 2026, through December 18, 2026, and make a meaningful difference in a thriving school community.

You’ll work with a manageable caseload of 45-50 elementary students, focusing on articulation and language therapy, including interventions using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices. Collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and families to ensure each student’s success.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Current or pending Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) status
  • Pediatric experience, particularly in a school-based or teletherapy setting
  • Familiarity with AAC and its applications in student therapy plans
  • Strong organizational and documentation abilities
  • Effective communicator and collaborator within multidisciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct therapy and evaluate students with speech and language needs
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student goals
  • Provide both in-person and potential teletherapy services as needed
  • Maintain thorough treatment records and progress reports
  • Engage in regular collaboration with educators, parents, and caregivers
