Embark on an enriching opportunity providing speech-language services within a welcoming school environment serving middle school students. This contract position begins August 17th and runs through approximately June 15th, aligning with the academic calendar (a slight extension may occur due to snow days). With one or two school buildings within close proximity—no more than three miles apart—you’ll be able to offer consistent support to students and collaborate easily with school staff.
Work with a manageable caseload of about 35 students across grades 6, 7, and 8, directly impacting their communication skills and academic success. This is an in-person, on-site position with steady, professional hours—7.5 hours each day—that allow you to immerse yourself in the school community.
Desired background, qualifications, and experience:
- State licensure or eligibility as an SLP, SLP-CCC, SLP-CFY, or SLPA
- Experience or strong interest in serving middle school populations
- Ability to assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills for working with staff and families
- Organizational skills for managing documentation and reporting requirements
- Flexibility to work in 1-2 buildings easily accessible to one another
Key responsibilities and expectations:
- Deliver direct speech-language services to a caseload of approximately 35 students in grades 6–8
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families
- Develop goals and implement interventions tailored to each student’s IEP
- Document progress and participate in IEP meetings as required
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging therapy environment
