This contract position plays an integral role supporting district-wide, site-based programs, known as MAPS PLUS, designed to provide specialized services to students in diverse learning environments. You'll collaborate closely with a dedicated team as you work with three elementary classrooms, one middle school class, and one high school class.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred; new graduates with applicable internship experience encouraged to apply
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with students, staff, and families
- Ability to adapt strategies to meet individual student needs across a range of ages and abilities
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional growth
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative speech and language therapy services to students in elementary, middle, and high school MAPS PLUS classes
- Conduct assessments, develop individualized education program (IEP) goals, and document progress
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student success, including teachers, specialists, and families
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing insights on student progress and recommended supports
- Create engaging activities that address communication needs and encourage student participation
- Contribute to program development and help foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
