Our school district in Allentown, PA is seeking a motivated Speech-Language Pathologist Clinical Fellow (SLP-CF) to join their team for the upcoming school year. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a supportive, collaborative educational setting with structured mentorship.

Position Overview

  • Full-time, Monday–Friday (35–40 hours/week)
  • Onsite position serving K–12 students (assignment based on preference/need)
  • Supervision and mentorship provided by a licensed SLP to support CF completion
  • Contract for the full school year with potential for renewal

Caseload Details

  • Diverse caseload of approximately 40–60 students (may vary by site)
  • Mild to moderate communication needs, including:
    • Articulation & phonological disorders
    • Language delays (receptive/expressive)
    • Social/pragmatic communication
    • Fluency and voice disorders
  • Some exposure to AAC and students with autism or developmental delays
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Conducting evaluations and re-evaluations
    • Developing and implementing IEP goals
    • Providing direct therapy services (individual & small group)
    • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
    • Maintaining compliant documentation

Pennsylvania State Requirements (SLP-CF)

To work as a Clinical Fellow in Pennsylvania, candidates must:

  • Hold a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Obtain a Pennsylvania Educational Specialist Certificate (Instructional I) through the Pennsylvania Department of Education
  • Apply for a temporary license (CF) through the Pennsylvania State Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology
  • Complete required background checks:
    • FBI Fingerprinting
    • PA Child Abuse History Clearance
    • PA Criminal History Check
  • Secure a supervising SLP for Clinical Fellowship (provided by district/contracting agency)
