A school district in Hartford, CT is seeking a motivated Speech-Language Pathologist Clinical Fellow (SLP-CF) for the upcoming school year. This role offers strong mentorship, a diverse caseload, and hands-on experience in a high-need urban school setting.

Position Overview

  • Full-time, Monday–Friday (35–40 hours/week)
  • Onsite role serving PreK–12 students across assigned schools
  • CF supervision provided by a licensed SLP
  • Full school-year contract with potential for renewal

Caseload Details

  • Average caseload: 40–60 students (varies by building assignment)
  • Students with a wide range of mild to moderate communication needs
  • Areas of service include:
    • Articulation & phonological disorders
    • Receptive/expressive language delays
    • Social/pragmatic communication needs
    • Fluency and voice disorders
  • Likely exposure to:
    • Autism spectrum disorders
    • AAC/assistive technology users
    • Multilingual/English learner populations
  • Responsibilities:
    • Conduct evaluations and re-evaluations
    • Develop and implement IEP goals
    • Provide direct therapy (individual and small group)
    • Collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers
    • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance

Connecticut State Requirements (SLP-CF)

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Eligibility for the Connecticut Initial Educator Certificate (Speech-Language Pathologist) through the Connecticut State Department of Education
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship under a licensed SLP
  • Licensure through the Connecticut Department of Public Health
  • Passing the Praxis exam typically required for full certification/licensure
  • Completion of required background checks (fingerprinting and school clearance process)

Compensation for this position ranges from $36.41 to $56.41. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
