A school district in Hartford, CT is seeking a motivated Speech-Language Pathologist Clinical Fellow (SLP-CF) for the upcoming school year. This role offers strong mentorship, a diverse caseload, and hands-on experience in a high-need urban school setting.
Position Overview
- Full-time, Monday–Friday (35–40 hours/week)
- Onsite role serving PreK–12 students across assigned schools
- CF supervision provided by a licensed SLP
- Full school-year contract with potential for renewal
Caseload Details
- Average caseload: 40–60 students (varies by building assignment)
- Students with a wide range of mild to moderate communication needs

Areas of service include:
- Articulation & phonological disorders
- Receptive/expressive language delays
- Social/pragmatic communication needs
- Fluency and voice disorders

Likely exposure to:
- Autism spectrum disorders
- AAC/assistive technology users
- Multilingual/English learner populations

Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and re-evaluations
- Develop and implement IEP goals
- Provide direct therapy (individual and small group)
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance
Connecticut State Requirements (SLP-CF)
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Eligibility for the Connecticut Initial Educator Certificate (Speech-Language Pathologist) through the Connecticut State Department of Education
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship under a licensed SLP
- Licensure through the Connecticut Department of Public Health
- Passing the Praxis exam typically required for full certification/licensure
- Completion of required background checks (fingerprinting and school clearance process)
