Make a difference in the lives of students as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a supportive school setting near the beautiful Huntington Beach area. This contract position offers the chance to work in specialized healthcare and mild/moderate special day class (SDC) environments across McBride and Millikan locations. With a 32-hour week, you’ll have the flexibility to build strong rapport with students while enjoying a balanced workload.

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, your expertise will be valued in providing assessment, intervention, and support for students with mild to moderate speech and language challenges. Both Clinical Fellowship (CFY) and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) candidates are welcome. There is no requirement for an SLPA, making this a fantastic opportunity for independent practitioners eager to impact student development directly.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Active California SLP license
  • Eligible for or holding the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
  • Previous school-based SLP experience (preferred)
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills
  • Experience working with students in mild/moderate special day class settings is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, diagnose, and create treatment plans for students with speech and language needs
  • Deliver direct therapy services to students in specialized healthcare and SDC classrooms
  • Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to support student progress
  • Complete all required documentation, reports, and IEPs in a timely manner
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
  • Provide consultation and training to school staff as needed
