Step into a rewarding assignment supporting student success as a Speech-Language Pathologist covering an FMLA leave on a contract basis. This full-time opportunity is just outside of Chicago, IL and runs from August 17, 2026, through mid-September (with a potential for a slight extension during transition). In this pivotal educational setting, you’ll work with middle and high school students—primarily 9th grade through transition plans, with some in grades 6, 7, and 8.
Your expertise will be central in conducting both initial and re-evaluations, collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams to deliver outstanding care. Ideally, you bring previous school-based experience and are ready to make an immediate impact.
What We’re Looking For:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active ASHA CCC-SLP certification
- Current state licensure (or eligibility) for working as an SLP in Illinois
- Proven background in pediatric speech-language therapy, especially within educational settings
- Experience with adolescents and middle school-aged students is highly desirable
- Familiarity with IEPs, evaluation protocols, and school communication processes
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Conducting comprehensive initial speech-language assessments and re-evaluations
- Collaborating with teachers and special education staff to support student IEP goals
- Delivering therapy and interventions tailored to student needs in middle and high school
- Maintaining consistent and timely documentation in compliance with school guidelines
- Assisting in transition planning for older students
