Step into a rewarding contract position serving students in the K-8th grade range, with a primary focus on 5th through 8th graders. This school-based opportunity is located within easy reach of Chicago, IL, and is set to cover a maternity leave period from August 17, 2026, through November 27, 2026. You’ll manage a manageable caseload of 15-20 students, supporting their communication and language development in a collaborative educational environment. Key Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
  • Valid state licensure for Illinois or eligibility to obtain
  • Previous experience working in a school setting is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with IEP development, progress monitoring, and school-based documentation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech and language therapy services to students, focusing primarily on grades 5-8 as part of a K-8 caseload
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and document all findings in accordance with school and state guidelines
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student progress
  • Attend team meetings and participate in staff training as scheduled
  • Monitor student growth and maintain accurate records
