Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Chicago, IL

Step into a rewarding school-based role supporting middle school students as a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist. You'll work with 6th to 8th graders, focusing largely on students with IEPs, while also lending expertise to a smaller group of non-special education students requiring speech services only. Desired Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
• Current ASHA certification (CCC-SLP)
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Illinois
• Previous experience working within school settings, especially with students requiring IEPs, is highly valued
• Skilled in providing both direct and teletherapy services
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted speech and language therapy services to students in grades 6-8, supporting both IEP goals and speech-only needs
• Assess students’ speech-language abilities using standardized tools and develop data-driven treatment plans
• Document progress and contribute to IEP meetings and related paperwork
• Consult with classroom teachers to support student development within the school environment
• Utilize teletherapy platforms as needed, ensuring high engagement and meaningful outcomes for remote learners
