Desired Background and Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
  • Current license (or eligibility) to practice as an SLP in Illinois
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred, but strong Clinical Fellows also welcome
  • Previous school-based experience or experience working with pediatric populations is a plus
  • Strong collaboration and communication abilities with students, staff, and families
  • Familiarity with IEP processes, progress monitoring, and documentation requirements

Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct assessments to determine speech and language needs of students across grade levels
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and provide direct speech-language intervention
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and consult with teachers regarding student progress
  • Engage families in their child’s treatment and communicate goals and achievements
  • Ensure timely and accurate compliance with IEP, Medicaid, and school recordkeeping
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students
