This contract role is ideal for a Speech Language Pathologist experienced in school settings seeking to make an impact in a dynamic educational environment. The position focuses on providing specialized speech and language therapy services to students within a school system located in Christiansburg, VA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide direct speech therapy services to students with a variety of communication disorders
- Collaborate regularly with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support student progress
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with educational and state regulations
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to goal development
- Implement evidence-based interventions tailored to the pediatric school population
Desired Qualifications:
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent credential
- Experience working in school settings with pediatric populations
- Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) preferred or recent qualified graduate
- Knowledge of therapy approaches for speech, language, and communication delays/disorders in children
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Credentials or experience as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in school or healthcare settings is a plus
