Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) – Contract Position in Christiansburg, VA

This contract role is ideal for a Speech Language Pathologist experienced in school settings seeking to make an impact in a dynamic educational environment. The position focuses on providing specialized speech and language therapy services to students within a school system located in Christiansburg, VA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide direct speech therapy services to students with a variety of communication disorders
  • Collaborate regularly with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support student progress
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with educational and state regulations
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to goal development
  • Implement evidence-based interventions tailored to the pediatric school population

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent credential
  • Experience working in school settings with pediatric populations
  • Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) preferred or recent qualified graduate
  • Knowledge of therapy approaches for speech, language, and communication delays/disorders in children
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Credentials or experience as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in school or healthcare settings is a plus
