Step into a rewarding opportunity by supporting students through specialized Speech-Language Pathology services in a hybrid setting. This contract role focuses on one high school student requiring Assistive Technology (AT) interventions, blending both targeted on-site support and flexible remote tasks.
What We’re Looking For:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid Texas SLP license (issued by TX Dept. of Licensing and Regulation)
- Active Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
- Prior school-based SLP experience highly desired
- Background with Assistive Technology, specifically eye-gaze systems (e.g., Accent devices)—including programming, calibration, and device maintenance
- Comfortable working independently and collaborating remotely with families and educational teams
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct in-person AT support for one high school student, 2 hours per week, at the assigned campus (Jefferson High School)
- Program, calibrate, and maintain the student's eye-gaze Accent device, ensuring optimal communication access
- Provide indirect consultation and training to the student’s educational team as needed
- Administer and process private school referrals for students needing speech-language evaluations through virtual administrative work (approximately 18 hours/week)
- Engage with parents: collect intake information, clarify referral reasons, coordinate paperwork, and facilitate timely completion of all referral procedures
- Maintain thorough records of service delivery and communication
Why This Role Stands Out: Enjoy the flexibility of hybrid work—spend most of your time managing administrative responsibilities remotely, while making a direct impact with dedicated, on-site student support. Take on a manageable 20-hour workweek and provide your expertise where it matters most.
If you’re passionate about person-centered care, enjoy problem-solving with AT, and appreciate flexibility, this contract position could be your next great step. Apply today to bring your skills and compassion to a unique student-centered role!
