Step into a vibrant Pre-K environment as a Speech-Language Pathologist—Contract opportunity serving students across two engaging early childhood settings. This 0.8 position covers a leave from August 19 to November 11 and offers flexibility with scheduling, as you can work between two to four days per week, from 8:10 AM to 3:20 PM. The majority of your work will be with Pre-K students primarily at one site, with additional collaboration at a nearby building, ensuring a dynamic and supportive atmosphere.
You’ll join a passionate team, providing a continuum of services that ranges from speech-only support to comprehensive assistance in self-contained classrooms. With 35 students already identified as having speech/language needs, your expertise will make a significant impact. Shared office space is available, fostering collaboration with colleagues. Weekly Tuesday meetings are essential for team alignment and student planning, so your presence on those days is a must.
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and active CCC-SLP certification.
- Previous experience in school-based settings, especially with Pre-K students.
- Strong background in conducting speech-language evaluations and participating in PBAs.
- Proficiency in using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to support diverse learners.
- Ability to adapt services to various classroom environments, from speech-only cases to self-contained settings.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and collaborative skills.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing individualized therapy plans.
- Conducting comprehensive speech-language evaluations.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families.
- Documenting progress and maintaining compliance with required records.
- Providing in-services or support to staff as needed.
