This contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist who enjoys working with middle school students and thrives in collaborative settings. You’ll deliver therapy and assessments in a self-contained classroom, supporting learners with a wide range of communication disorders and disabilities during a maternity leave coverage.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Active ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in New York State
- Experience working in school settings, especially with middle school-aged students
- Background in both in-person and teletherapy modalities preferred
- Ability to develop and implement effective treatment plans for students with diverse needs
- Skilled in multi-disciplinary collaboration and family communication
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language evaluations for students in a self-contained classroom
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans targeting communication and swallowing disorders
- Collaborate closely with teachers, counselors, and school administrators to support each student’s educational journey
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation in accordance with school guidelines
- Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, adjusting strategies as needed for a variety of disorders and disabilities
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing team planning
