Make a meaningful impact supporting young students as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a dynamic school environment for the full academic year. This contract opportunity offers part-time hours—14 to 21 hours per week—working with PreK through 2nd-grade students near scenic Colchester, CT, from August 26, 2026, to June 11, 2027. You’ll address communication needs for a caseload primarily composed of students with Speech or Language Impairments (SLI) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), with some students focused on articulation goals.
What you’ll do:
- Deliver targeted speech and language therapy services to early elementary students
- Support and collaborate with students using AAC devices (currently four on the caseload); access to contracted AAC training and support is provided
- Partner with a fellow SLPA who covers many service hours, allowing you to focus on specialized needs, evaluations, and complex cases
- Adapt therapy plans for a diverse caseload that may shift with new referrals and subsequent testing
- Work closely with educators, families, and other professionals to maximize progress and growth
- Collect accurate documentation of services provided and update progress reports
- Engage in ongoing professional development and training opportunities
Ideal qualifications:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology license and Certificate of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC)
- Experience supporting SLI, ASD, and articulation within pediatric populations
- Familiarity with AAC devices and willingness to collaborate for AAC training/support
- Strong evaluation, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a team-based and flexible school setting
