Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active Speech-Language Pathology license for the state of Texas
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
  • Previous experience in school-based settings is highly valued
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain detailed weekly timelogs for time approval
  • Willingness to work onsite at one or possibly two district campuses

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive speech and language services for students across grade levels
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and special education staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Conduct thorough assessments and maintain accurate documentation of student progress
  • Serve one, or occasionally two, campuses within the district (potential sites include Desoto High, Woodridge Elementary, Frank Moats Elementary, Amber Terrace Early Childhood, and Meadows Elementary)
  • Empower students to achieve communication goals and access their education successfully
  • Report regularly to district leadership and maintain open lines of communication
