Step into a vital role supporting young learners during a maternity leave coverage from August 24th through November 18th. This full-time, contract opportunity focuses on early elementary students (K-2), allowing you to make a direct impact in both a self-contained classroom and through targeted pull-out speech services. Your expertise as a certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) will ensure continuity of care and communication development in a collaborative, welcoming school environment near Darien, IL.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
  • Valid state licensure (or eligibility) in Illinois for school-based practice
  • Experience working with early elementary children, especially K-2 populations
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
  • Previous school-based SLP experience preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide speech and language assessments, therapy, and support to students in K-2
  • Serve 3 days per week in a self-contained classroom, integrating interventions into daily routines
  • Deliver pull-out speech services 2 days per week to address individual student needs
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and families to develop and implement IEP goals
  • Document progress and maintain required records in accordance with school and state guidelines
  • Participate in IEP meetings and team conferences as needed
