A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available for the upcoming contract school year, beginning as soon as possible. This role involves providing specialized speech-language services to K-12 students across two locations: three days at a learning center in West Liberty and two days at a school in the Triad area. The position requires a commitment of 7.5 hours per day, with typical start times around 7:30 a.m., though slight variations may occur based on individual school district schedules.
This contract assignment is well-suited for an experienced SLP with demonstrated proficiency in working with students with autism across a broad age range from kindergarten through high school. The caseload primarily includes students diagnosed with autism, requiring tailored speech-language therapy interventions.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred
- Experience working with K-12 students, especially those with autism spectrum disorders
- Ability to deliver individualized therapy sessions and document progress efficiently
- Strong collaboration skills to work alongside educators and other support staff
- Flexibility to work on-site at both assigned locations throughout the week
Responsibilities include:
- Plan and implement therapy strategies to meet the communication needs of students
- Conduct evaluations and assessments to determine speech and language requirements
- Maintain detailed records and reports on student progress and treatment plans
- Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and administrative staff
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to student Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
