Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students’ communication development in a vibrant school setting near Decatur, AL. You’ll play a key part in helping students achieve academic and social success by providing high-quality speech-language services throughout the school semester, with the possibility to extend the assignment.
What You’ll Bring:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid state license or eligibility for licensure in Alabama
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred, but Clinical Fellows (CFY) are encouraged to apply
- Experience in a school setting, or strong desire to work with school-aged children
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with teachers, families, and other professionals
What You’ll Do:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat communication and speech disorders for students from varied backgrounds
- Develop targeted therapy plans to address needs such as articulation, fluency, voice, language, and social communication
- Document progress and maintain accurate records according to school and state guidelines
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support students’ success in both classroom and social environments
- Conduct screenings, evaluations, and participate in IEP meetings
- Provide direct and consultative services, as well as recommendations for classroom strategies
Role Details:
- Begin as soon as selected, continue through the end of the semester, with the potential to stay longer based on need
- 30 hours per week, allowing balance between professional growth and personal commitments
