Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist in a contract role designed for work-life balance. This opportunity is ideal for a highly qualified SLP-CCC with school-based experience who values both mentoring and collaboration. You’ll be working at a local high school near Derby, KS, filling in during a maternity leave on a part-time schedule—three days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday) over approximately 20 hours weekly. The assignment runs from October 4, 2026, to December 23, 2026, with the added benefit of shadowing the current SLP for 1–2 weeks prior to the official start to ensure a smooth transition.

Key Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
  • State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Previous experience working in a school setting strongly preferred
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of 46 students, including both consult services (1,085 projected hours) and direct therapy (750 projected hours)
  • Deliver evidence-based speech and language interventions
  • Conduct evaluations, write Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and maintain up-to-date documentation
  • Collaborate closely with current SLP during shadowing period for seamless transition
  • Communicate effectively with staff, students, and families to support student growth
