Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Des Moines, IA

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an SLP
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred, CFY candidates considered
• Previous experience in school settings is a plus
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse students and staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate students to determine speech and language needs
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Deliver direct and consultative speech-language therapy services
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation and progress reports
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
• Educate and support families and staff on speech/language development strategies
• Collaborate with teachers to adapt classroom activities for communication needs
