School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Des Plaines, Illinois

Make a positive impact in the lives of students as a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC). This full-time contract opportunity, located in the vibrant Des Plaines, IL area, offers the chance to provide critical support to middle school students for the upcoming academic year. Beginning September 29, 2026 and concluding June 9, 2027, you’ll help empower young learners by supporting their communication and language development.

You’ll play an essential role within a collaborative school team, serving either at a single middle school or potentially working itinerantly across multiple sites. The typical caseload follows a workload model of approximately 45 students, ensuring you can foster meaningful relationships and deliver quality interventions. Bilingual candidates (Spanish & English) are encouraged to apply, as this skill is highly valued within the student community.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Current IL Professional Educator License with SLP endorsement
• Active Illinois SLP state license
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
• Bilingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred
• Previous experience in a school-based setting

Responsibilities:

• Conduct evaluations, develop treatment plans, and provide therapy for students with speech and language disorders
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support each student's IEP goals
• Document progress and maintain thorough, accurate case notes
• Attend team meetings and contribute to planning for students' academic and communication needs

This position is open to both full-time (37.5 hours/week) and part-time applicants. All services are in-person on campus—no virtual assignments available.
