Step into an impactful role supporting elementary students in an ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) program for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year. This contract-based opportunity places your expertise at the forefront, working hands-on within a dedicated onsite environment near Detroit, MI. As a part of a specialized setting, you'll collaborate with teachers, families, and staff to address the diverse communication needs of a caseload of approximately 25 students.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current, active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license is required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) must be held at the time of hire
- Previous experience in school-based settings, particularly with elementary-aged students
- Background working with students on the autism spectrum is strongly preferred
- Excellence in collaboration, documentation, and communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy and interventions onsite to elementary students in an ASD classroom setting
- Conduct thorough assessments, develop individualized IEP goals, and monitor student progress
- Consult regularly with educators, families, and other related service providers to promote student success
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with state and district guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings, team consultations, and ongoing professional development
