Embark on a rewarding experience serving students with a contract Speech-Language Pathologist opportunity for the 2026 Fall semester. This role focuses on providing essential therapy services to elementary-aged children, including those in preschool and with high Autism support needs. The positions begin in September and extend for a 12-week period, requiring over 35 hours each week.
You’ll be placed onsite at one of two welcoming elementary school settings—both offering a supportive environment and collaboration with educators and specialists. Candidates holding ASHA CCCs are most desirable, but Clinical Fellows are welcome if they can secure outside supervision, as the district is unable to provide this resource. SLP Assistants are not utilized in these roles.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current New Jersey Speech-Language Pathologist License
- Valid NJ Speech-Language Specialist (SLS) Certification
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Strong knowledge of Autism intervention, early childhood, and K-5 speech-language needs
- ASHA CCCs preferred; Clinical Fellows with independent supervision considered
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and documentation skills
- Previous school-based or pediatric SLP experience highly valued
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language therapy to K-5 and preschool students, particularly those on the Autism spectrum
- Conduct screenings, evaluations, and ongoing assessments
- Develop and monitor individualized education program (IEP) goals
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to maximize student success
- Maintain thorough and timely records in compliance with state and district policies
