School-Based Speech Language Pathologist - Elkhart, Indiana

Step into a rewarding contract role providing speech-language support to students for a long-term assignment near Elkhart, IN. We are seeking a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to cover a leave from September 14th through March 1st, 2027. SLP-CCC credentials are welcomed, and candidates interested in the SLPA route may apply if supervisory arrangements can be made.

This position serves a manageable caseload of 41 students, including 1-2 students at a local alternative education center in Goshen, ensuring individualized attention and meaningful intervention.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Valid SLP-CCC or SLPA certification, eligible for work in a school setting
• Previous school-based experience is preferred
• Ability to assess, diagnose, and provide targeted intervention for speech and language disorders
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, staff, and families
• Comfort working with diverse student populations, including those in alternative education environments
• SLPA candidates must meet supervision requirements

Responsibilities:

• Deliver speech and language services as outlined in IEPs
• Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor student progress
• Document sessions and maintain student records in compliance with school guidelines
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families to support student success
• Participate in meetings as needed
• Provide occasional services at the alternative ed center nearby
