An exciting opportunity is available for a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) to provide onsite support in an elementary school setting serving pre-kindergarten through 5th grade students. This role is based in Elyria, OH, offering a rewarding environment dedicated to fostering communication and development in young learners.
Responsibilities include managing a weighted caseload of approximately 80 students, providing direct therapy services, and delivering compensatory services due to a vacancy that has existed since October. The position requires proficiency in working with students on the autism spectrum, including those in pre-K and K-5 autism classrooms. Many students utilize Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices, making experience with AAC-rich environments highly valuable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid SLP licensure with CCC credential
- Experience working in educational settings with elementary-aged children
- Comfort and skill in serving students who use AAC devices
- Ability to manage a substantial caseload effectively
- Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and appropriate speech-language interventions
