Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students’ communication and life skills in a vibrant educational setting near Eugene, OR! This position serves a diverse caseload of approximately 33 students across two high schools and one elementary school. Working full-time from September 8, 2026, through June 17, 2027, you’ll spend half of your week at Westmoreland campus—where specialized education is a focus—and the other half at Lane schools, assisting students in building vital social connections.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide speech and language services for students enrolled in life skills programs
  • Assess, diagnose, and develop individualized plans for communication disorders
  • Collaborate with special education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other support staff
  • Implement safe eating protocols and feeding plans; training available if you’re eager to build these skills
  • Support students in using AAC devices to promote independence
  • Maintain accurate records, track progress, and foster communication between teachers, students, and families
  • Attend monthly team meetings (virtual) for ongoing collaboration with a supportive network of 12 SLPs
  • Promote socialization and communication across various learning environments

The following experience is sought, though not strictly required:

  • Valid SLP licensure and CCC credential
  • Prior experience within educational settings or providing school-based SLP services
  • Familiarity with feeding/swallowing safety and AAC (training provided as needed)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently while accessing robust virtual and on-site support
