Step into a rewarding part-time role supporting middle school students in their communication journey! This contract opportunity offers the chance to use your expertise as a Speech-Language Pathologist, focusing on 6th to 8th graders for the full school year. You’ll work 0.4 to 2 days per week, making a direct impact in the lives of students who have IEPs, as well as a select group needing speech support only.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current SLP-CCC credential required
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as an SLP in Illinois
- Prior experience in a school setting preferred, especially with students on IEPs
- Comfortable working with both special education and general education populations
- Experience with teletherapy or readiness to provide remote services if needed
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and deliver therapy for students with speech and language needs in grades 6–8
- Write and implement targeted IEP goals and objectives for students with identified speech-language impairments
- Serve speech-only students, collaborating closely with teachers and parents to support progress
- Document progress, maintain compliance with state and federal educational standards, and participate in IEP meetings
- Provide both in-person and virtual (as needed) therapy services to ensure continuity of care
