Step into a rewarding contract position where your expertise in speech-language pathology can make a real difference for middle school students. This assignment runs from August 17th through approximately June 15th, with the possibility of extending slightly to accommodate snow days. You'll provide on-site support in one or two school buildings, conveniently located within three miles of each other, making transitions between sites simple and manageable.
Your focus will be on a caseload of about 35 students in grades 6, 7, and 8. The environment is collaborative, supportive, and deeply centered on student growth and success. You'll enjoy a consistent 7.5-hour workday, allowing you to provide high-quality, individualized services while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Ideal candidates will possess:
- A Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or be on track to earn one)
- Current or eligible CCC-SLP credentials; clinical fellows (CFY) and SLP Assistants (SLPA) may be considered based on experience and fit
- Previous school-based experience strongly preferred
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Passion for student-focused therapy, especially among the middle school population
- Commitment to working exclusively on-site (no remote/teletherapy options)
Primary responsibilities include:
- Evaluating, diagnosing, and providing direct speech-language therapy to assigned students
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress
- Developing and tracking individualized treatment plans and IEP goals
- Maintaining clear, timely documentation and progress reports
