Speech Language Pathologist in Fairport, NY

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity impacting students’ lives as a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist working with a dedicated educational team near Fairport, NY. This position spans the full school year, including a 6-week Extended School Year (ESY) session, aligning with the school calendar. You’ll have a consistent schedule, working with a close-knit caseload exclusively at one location.

You’ll collaborate with educators and support staff to make a difference for students ages 7–21 who are developmentally disabled or on the autism spectrum, including those who use AAC devices or are nonverbal. This is an outstanding opportunity to grow your clinical skills with a 6:1:3 classroom ratio, giving you the chance to provide focused, individualized attention, and to work with students who present a wide range of communication needs and some behavioral challenges.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Valid SLP-CCC credential and eligibility for NYS licensure (if not already held)
• School-based experience strongly preferred, particularly with autism and AAC
• Expertise in supporting students with intellectual disabilities (IQ < 70)
• Knowledge of AAC implementation strategies and behavioral intervention techniques
• Compassion, flexibility, and dedication to holistic student support

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small group therapy for students on your caseload
• Collaborate with teachers, aides, and support staff within the school environment
• Develop, implement, and update IEP goals and document progress
• Assist with AAC device selection, programming, and staff/student training
• Provide consultative support to staff and families, enhancing carryover of communication skills
• Monitor student progress and adapt interventions as needed
