Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Active SLP license for Virginia and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Previous experience serving school-age children in a school environment is highly valued
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) targeting each student's unique needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Screen, assess, and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders among students
- Design and deliver tailored therapy sessions, both individual and small group, based on IEP requirements
- Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation on student progress and session attendance
- Consult with teachers and families, providing strategies and resources to extend support beyond therapy sessions
- Participate in IEP meetings and support the development of student goals
- Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal regulations regarding special education
