As a contract Speech-Language Pathologist, you’ll work closely with children and staff to identify, diagnose, and support a variety of speech and language needs. Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
  • Active SLP license for Virginia and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
  • Previous experience serving school-age children in a school environment is highly valued
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) targeting each student's unique needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Screen, assess, and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders among students
  • Design and deliver tailored therapy sessions, both individual and small group, based on IEP requirements
  • Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation on student progress and session attendance
  • Consult with teachers and families, providing strategies and resources to extend support beyond therapy sessions
  • Participate in IEP meetings and support the development of student goals
  • Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal regulations regarding special education
