Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university
  • Valid or pending Michigan SLP license (proof of application and pending status accepted)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required; consideration given to strong Clinical Fellows (CFY)
  • Previous experience with school-aged (K-12) populations preferred
  • Official university transcripts required before district presentation
  • Comfort and professionalism while working onsite across multiple school locations
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to create inclusive, supportive learning environments
  • Knowledge of challenges and resources specific to urban student populations highly valued

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct individual and group speech-language therapy tailored to student needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to support communication development in the classroom and beyond
  • Develop IEP goals, participate in meetings, and maintain compliance with all documentation requirements
  • Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations and provide clear, actionable written reports
  • Offer training for staff in best practices and augmentative communication, ensuring integration for both students and families
  • Maintain, organize, and manage therapy materials and equipment appropriately
  • Travel within the district to provide therapy across assigned school buildings
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and additional duties as assigned
