Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist, supporting students from Pre-K through 8th grade in a dynamic educational setting near Fort Pierce, FL. This role provides the chance to positively impact young learners as the sole SLP on campus, focusing on resource therapy while working closely with school staff to foster student growth and development.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Current, active Florida SLP (CCC) license required
- Previous experience in a school-based environment preferred, particularly working with PK through 8th grade populations
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, therapy planning, and intervention for a diverse caseload
- Ability to work independently as the only SLP on-site, while effectively collaborating with educators and families
- Completion of required fingerprinting for district credentialing (may use existing records if already printed in the ACHA Clearinghouse)
Primary responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy to students across grades PK–8 in a resource setting
- Conduct evaluations, develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and maintain documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines
- Communicate progress and recommendations to teachers, administrators, and parents
- Offer consultation to staff to promote language and communication skill development in the classroom
- Utilize best practices to tailor interventions and maximize student success
Role highlights:
- On-site, in-person position with direct student interaction
- Consistent part-time schedule: 14 hours per week (2 days, 7 hours each day)
