A contract Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available for the 2026-2027 academic year in Gary, IN, serving elementary and middle school populations. This position offers a 37.5-hour workweek and the chance to support students across multiple school buildings with diverse communication needs.

Two SLP positions are open, with flexible caseload assignments:

  • SLP #1: Responsible for one elementary and one middle school building.
  • SLP #2: Responsible for two middle school buildings.

Caseload size ranges from 45-55 students, providing opportunities to impact a broad student community. Candidates holding an SLP credential, including those with Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or school-based licensure, are encouraged to apply. Candidates comfortable with VOCO technology are preferred.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid SLP certification or licensure suitable for school settings
  • Experience working with elementary and middle school-aged children
  • Strong knowledge of speech and language assessment and intervention strategies
  • Ability to manage caseload effectively across single or multiple school buildings
  • Familiarity with assistive communication technologies, especially VOCO systems

Location and Schedule:

  • Gary, Indiana
  • Contract position: August 2026 through May 2027 (start and end dates TBD)
  • Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech and language therapy to elementary and middle school students
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with school district and regulatory requirements
  • Utilize assistive communication tools to enhance therapy outcomes
