School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Gig Harbor, Washington

Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting young learners as a contract Speech-Language Pathologist in a welcoming early learning environment. Based onsite at a vibrant elementary school near Gig Harbor, this full-time role lets you make a significant impact while working closely with students, families, and a collaborative educational team. The anticipated start date is August 24th, perfectly timed for the new academic year.

Your week will provide meaningful structure: Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with staff hours of 8:45am to 4:15pm. Student interaction primarily occurs during 9:10am-4:00pm, while pre- and post-student day time is reserved for evaluations, results meetings, and IEP development. Wednesdays offer a unique focus, as no developmental preschool classes are held, providing ideal moments for planning and collaboration.

Key Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Communication Disorders or related field
• Valid Speech-Language Pathologist license and SLP-CCC credential (Certificate of Clinical Competence)
• Prior experience in educational or pediatric settings is strongly preferred
• Proficiency in conducting assessments, leading IEP meetings, and delivering direct and consultative services
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive speech and language evaluations, including Child Find and Itinerant assessments
• Lead and participate in IEP meetings, sharing evaluation data and collaborating on student goals
• Provide direct intervention, transitional support to kindergarten-bound students as needed, and consultative services to staff and families
• Maintain timely documentation and uphold compliance with school and district policies
• Engage proactively with the school community to foster positive outcomes for students
