School-Based Occupational Therapist – Functional Learning & Student Independence Specialist (2026/2027 School Year)
A student-focused school district in the Gilroy, CA area is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) for the 2026–2027 school year. Responsibilities:
Evaluate student performance related to fine motor, sensory, and adaptive functioning within the educational environment
Develop individualized therapy goals and contribute to IEP development
Provide direct occupational therapy services in classroom and small-group settings
Recommend adaptive equipment, environmental modifications, and classroom strategies to support student participation
Collaborate with teachers, families, and special education teams to promote student independence
Track progress and maintain accurate therapy documentation in accordance with district requirements
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and assist with student eligibility and service planning
Experience:
Experience working with children or adolescents preferred
School-based or pediatric therapy experience is a plus
Strong communication and problem-solving skills highly valued
New graduates encouraged to apply
Education:
Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
Active California Occupational Therapist License required
