Step into a rewarding role supporting students' communication and academic growth as an onsite Speech Language Pathologist for K-12 schools. This contract position runs from August 17 to June 11 and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact across locations, with on-site work in the Grand Blanc, Lansing, and Detroit areas. Both experienced SLPs and Clinical Fellows (CFYs) are encouraged to apply, with preference for candidates who already have an established supervisor.
Key qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (official university transcripts required prior to district presentation)
- Current or pending state licensure (provide proof of completed application and status)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Experience or interest in serving diverse, urban youth populations; be prepared to discuss resources and approaches for supporting their unique needs
- Capacity to travel between assigned buildings within the district
- Comfort and demonstrated success working solely onsite
- Commitment to collaboration with colleagues and families
Primary responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy individually and in group settings to K-12 students
- Participate fully in IEP and MET meetings, and develop goals and objectives for each student’s unique needs
- Conduct thorough evaluations and draft reports for students suspected of speech, language, voice, or oral motor concerns
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support personnel to foster a supportive classroom environment
- Offer in-service training and professional development for staff on language development and AAC strategies
- Maintain precise records and documentation for compliance with district and legal guidelines
- Organize, maintain, and order necessary therapy materials and equipment
- Provide additional duties as assigned by the school district
