This contract opportunity offers the chance to serve a diverse student population in Grand Blanc, Lansing, and Detroit areas, supporting students’ communication needs in both individual and group settings.
Professionals with their Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) are highly valued; however, Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates are also encouraged to apply. If your licensure is pending, proof of completed application and pending status will be considered. Assignments run from August 17 through June 11, working full-time at 35 hours per week.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or equivalent with submission of official university transcripts required
- Valid Michigan SLP license or proof of application in process
- CCC preferred, CFY candidates accepted (Flint prefers those with an established supervisor)
- School-based or pediatric experience strongly desired
- Understanding of challenges faced by urban children and familiarity with resources for students and families
- Comfortable working onsite and traveling between school buildings as needed
- Commitment to maintaining accurate IEP, MET, and compliance documentation
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group speech-language therapy for K-12 students
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to integrate communication strategies into the classroom
- Contribute to IEP/MET meetings and formulate student goals
- Provide staff training on language development best practices
- Conduct assessments, develop reports, and implement AAC supports
