Speech Language Pathologist in Gretna, LA

Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the New Orleans area. This onsite position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact within local schools, working closely with students to enhance communication skills and help them reach their fullest potential.

As a valued member of the educational team, you’ll work a full-time schedule of 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 7 hours per day, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch), following the school calendar. The assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through May 27, 2027. Caseload details and assigned schools will be confirmed closer to your start date, providing variety and new experiences throughout your contract.

Key Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
• Active and current Louisiana state licensure (candidates must already possess licensure; those in process will not be considered)
• ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Ability to complete drug screening and fingerprinting as part of credentialing requirements
• Prior school-based SLP experience a plus

Responsibilities Include:

• Conducting assessments and developing individualized treatment plans
• Delivering speech and language therapy services to students as outlined in IEPs
• Collaborating with teachers, staff, and families to maximize student progress
• Maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with district standards
• Participating in IEP meetings and professional development as required
