Step into a school-based role supporting students by providing high-quality speech-language pathology services during a maternity leave coverage. This full-time, contract opportunity is based exclusively onsite and covers the period from mid-September through the end of November, aligning with the school calendar and holiday breaks. You’ll work with approximately 50-60 students at the elementary level, collaborating with educational staff to help children overcome communication challenges and reach their academic potential.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active SLP license, with CCCs preferred; strong Clinical Fellows will also be considered
- Prior school-based experience (elementary caseloads desired)
- Deep understanding of IEP process and compliance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with children from diverse backgrounds
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct screenings, assessments, and diagnostic evaluations of students’ communication disorders
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plan (IEP) goals
- Provide direct therapy to students, both individually and in group settings
- Maintain thorough records and prepare detailed reports
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to support student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings as a valued team member
- Stay current with best practices in school-based SLP
