Key qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
  • Must hold a G License from the NC Department of Public Instruction
  • May possess a license from the Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists
  • Experience in school-based settings or with pediatric populations is valued

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and overseeing therapy services and initiatives in the school setting
  • Conducting screenings, assessments, and diagnostic evaluations to identify students’ needs
  • Developing and implementing personalized treatment plans and interventions
  • Advising students, families, and school staff on communication-related matters and strategies
  • Collaborating with educators and multidisciplinary teams to promote student progress
  • Maintaining documentation and compliance standards according to school and state guidelines
