This full-time role spans from early September through late October, with the potential for an extension through December. Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field
- Valid SLP license in New York State
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Previous experience working in a school environment, particularly with elementary-aged students
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and adhere to established therapy plans
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy to students, conducting a total of 40 half-hour sessions per week
- Develop individualized education program (IEP) goals based on student needs
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to monitor student progress and make adjustments as necessary
- Maintain accurate session notes, progress reports, and data tracking
- Participate in meetings and contribute to overall student support plans
- Foster a positive, encouraging environment that supports student achievement in communication
