Step into a meaningful role supporting students with complex needs, including significant autism spectrum disorder and various disabilities, in a reputable educational setting near Hamden, CT. This full-time contract assignment offers the chance to cover a maternity leave for the 2026/2027 school year, running from August 12th to November 1st. You’ll play a vital part in helping students communicate, thrive, and succeed within the North Haven area community.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Current state licensure and CCC-SLP certification (or eligibility)
  • Previous experience working in school-based settings
  • Strong clinical background in serving students with complex disabilities, including significant ASD
  • Excellent communication skills—collaborate closely with educators, families, and support staff
  • Ability to implement and document evidence-based interventions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative speech therapy services to students within diverse classroom environments
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individualized education program (IEP) goals, and monitor progress
  • Adapt therapy sessions to meet the unique needs of each student
  • Work collaboratively with special education teams and related services professionals
  • Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
  • Participate in IEP meetings, contribute to progress reporting, and communicate effectively with families and team members
