Step into a rewarding school-based speech-language pathologist opportunity for the 2026-27 academic year. Work on a contract basis in a supportive educational environment, located approximately one hour north of Wilmington, NC. In this dynamic role, you’ll provide vital speech and language services to a diverse caseload of K-12 students, nurturing communication skills that empower lifelong learning.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering comprehensive speech and language therapy to students across elementary, middle, and high school levels.
- Conducting thorough assessments and evaluations to develop individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Collaborating with teachers, special education staff, and families to support effective interventions.
- Documenting progress, maintaining accurate records, and participating in IEP meetings.
- Providing guidance and support to students and staff related to speech and language development.
- Engaging in professional development and staying current on best practices in the field.
Preferred skills and qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
- Active SLP-CCC or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) status.
- Licensure (or ability to obtain) as required for school-based practice in North Carolina.
- Experience with pediatric populations, school-based settings, or healthcare-related speech-language therapy is highly valued.
- Enthusiasm for working with diverse groups of students and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational expertise.
