Make a difference in the lives of elementary students by supporting communication development in an engaging school environment! This contract opportunity offers the chance to work flexibly—either as a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist for 35 hours per week or as two part-time professionals sharing this role. You'll provide critical speech and language services with a manageable caseload of 15 students within two elementary autistic support classrooms.
This role is especially rewarding for Speech-Language Pathologists who are passionate about working with children with autism and are excited to facilitate communication breakthroughs, especially for new AAC users. The absence of case management duties allows you to focus entirely on direct therapy, assessment, and collaboration with an experienced educational team.
Key qualifications:
- Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC or CFY considered)
- School-based SLP experience preferred, but strong clinical fellows with pediatric backgrounds are welcome
- Experience or strong interest in working with students who use AAC devices
- Knowledge of AAC evaluation processes
- Team-oriented, flexible, and committed to student growth
In this role, you will:
- Provide direct speech and language interventions to students in autistic support elementary classrooms
- Support students as they begin using AAC devices, tailoring therapy to their unique needs
- Conduct some AAC evaluations to help inform therapy and support planning
- Collaborate with classroom staff and families to maximize student success
- Deliver therapy sessions within school hours of approximately 8:00 am to 3:30 pm
This is your chance to guide meaningful communication milestones for students who need it most and to collaborate with a supportive school staff.
