Job Type Contract

Bring your expertise as a Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC) to a truly impactful setting as you partner closely with a medically fragile middle school student. This unique contract opportunity, just west of Philadelphia, involves one-on-one engagement with a student receiving services at home due to being bed-bound. Your support will be vital, not only to the student, but to a family where communication is key—Spanish-speaking skills are highly sought to ensure the best possible connection. However, non-bilingual candidates are welcome to apply, as interpretive support may be arranged.

Key Qualifications:

  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology required
  • Experience or comfort working with medically fragile or homebound students preferred
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish highly desired
  • Ability to develop trusting relationships with students and families over a multi-year commitment
  • Strong collaborative instincts to work alongside OT and PT as an integrated team
  • Compassionate communicator, attentive to cultural and family dynamics

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct speech-language therapy services (2.5 hours/week) tailored to a specific student's IEP goals
  • Collaborate with OT and PT to create a cohesive, student-centered schedule and service plan
  • Adapt assessment and intervention strategies to the homebound, medically complex environment
  • Build and sustain open, empathetic communication with the student’s family—using Spanish when possible
  • Document progress, communicate with district staff, and help refine long-term therapy approaches as needs change

The district is seeking a dedicated provider who will provide steady support for this student and family across the school year and beyond. Flexibility for additional hours in the future is appreciated, as is a readiness to begin immediately or at the start of the new school year.

Make a difference that lasts—apply now to support this student on their educational and communicative journey.
