This assignment begins on August 10, 2026, and is anticipated to run through December 2026, covering a maternity leave with the possibility—though not guaranteed—of extension through the school year. The role centers on providing speech-language services within three medically fragile classrooms at a vibrant elementary school, collaborating closely with a dedicated SLP and SLPA already assigned to the site.

Strong candidates will be skilled in meeting the unique communication needs of medically complex students and possess hands-on experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices. Applicants who are fully credentialed SLPs with CCC or licensed SLPAs are welcome to apply—teamwork, flexibility, and compassion are highly valued.

What we’re seeking:

  • Valid California licensure as an SLP (CCC) or SLPA
  • Experience working in school settings and with medically fragile pediatric caseloads
  • Proficient with AAC devices, implementing, and supporting their use in classroom environments
  • Commitment to collaborative practice with existing SLPs, SLPAs, and classroom staff
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering direct speech and language services to students in line with IEP goals
  • Conducting assessments, progress monitoring, and contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Providing guidance on AAC device integration for classroom staff and caregivers
  • Coordinating with fellow speech staff to ensure continuity of care

Schedule ranges from 32.5 to 35 hours per week in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Picture yourself making a meaningful difference in the lives of medically fragile students while collaborating with skilled colleagues. If you’re passionate about building communication skills and ready for an impactful contract, we encourage you to apply today!

Compensation for this position ranges from $47.53 to $67.53. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
