Qualifications sought for this role include:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
  • Eligibility for or possession of an active Texas licensure
  • ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) is preferred
  • Prior experience in a school setting is advantageous
  • Competence with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices
  • Familiarity with creating and managing IEPs
  • SLP-CFY and SLPA credentials or experience in healthcare or pediatric settings welcome

As a specialist in this position, you will:

  • Assess and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in school-aged children
  • Create and implement tailored intervention strategies that meet each student’s needs
  • Work closely with families, caregivers, SLPAs, physical therapists, and occupational therapists to promote holistic progress
  • Track, document, and report on student development and therapy outcomes
  • Maintain thorough and compliant documentation to support educational objectives
